Women in Business in a Changing World
CHANGE!
Our world is constantly in flux, and one of the biggest secrets for success is learning how to welcome change rather than resist it.
The authors of this book understand the challenges we all face when change comes knocking on the door, with its insistence on interrupting the status quo, but they’ve also experienced the powerful creativity and growth that comes from leaning into it. Their courageous stories demonstrate so many ways to overcome obstacles and opposition, and by seeing them succeed despite incredible odds you will be inspired to become unstoppable in your own right.
“The way the world is changing it’s not just about ‘what can I do’ – it’s about what ‘we' can do together to be bigger, better, stronger. The women of today are ready to share their voices in new and inventive ways. I invite you to share your voice the way the authors are sharing theirs in this extraordinary book.”
Shelly Lynn Hughes – Publisher, Fresh Magazine
With an accelerated timetable of transformation now before us, it has never been more imperative to embrace your opportunities to evolve, succeed and thrive. It’s a new day, and change has never felt so good!

Introduction
“In order to change ourselves, we must first believe we can.”
~Marie Forleo, Everything is Figureoutable
Christine Awram is the founder of Woman Of Worth WOW Worldwide. She’s a bestselling author, dynamic speaker, visionary, and philanthropist. Christine radiates vitality with her indomitable spirit, yet her earlier years began as a teenage runaway who experienced addiction, illness, and depression. She inspires others by sharing stories about how she moved from futility to fulfillment, and transformed challenges into passion and purpose – usually with a good dose of irreverence and her trademark humour.
Christine’s commitment to the empowered leadership of women resulted in her being honoured with the Outstanding Leadership Award by the Global Women’s Summit. She has personally inspired thousands of women through her WOW events and programs, and has published nine #1 bestselling books in just over three years. She is also part of the bestseller Pursuit:365 along with such luminaries as Jann Arden and Bif Naked.
“Everyone has a story that matters,” she declares, “and everyone’s story is someone else’s road map. The beliefs you shifted to overcome challenges, the grief you survived, the fears you faced down, the courageous decisions you made … other women need to learn and be inspired by you. They need to know that it can be done.”
Foreword
“For that product to become a brand, that idea to become a program, and that concept to become a movement, you need collaboration. It is the antithesis of ego and the drive behind all great things. To achieve this greatness, everyone at the table must have a voice.”

~Jim Rohn
Brenda has been a lifelong cat lover. As a child, she regularly collected cats from the neighbourhood and brought them home, only for her mother to put them back outside at night so they could return to their owners.
Brenda has had many careers over the years, but the only thing that ever held her attention was cats. After years of trying to escape her depression by changing jobs and locations, she decided to stop running and really listen to what she wanted to do. She started a cattery at the farm she was living on in 1996 followed by Club Cat Hotel in 1997, guided by the facility rating programs from the Cat Fanciers Association and the International Cat Association.
Club Cat has been a true lifesaver for Brenda and has brought many new friends into her life. It was featured twice on a program called Pet Friends, on the news with Dave Gerry of City TV, and in the book Cats I Have Known and Loved by renowned Canadian author Pierre Berton. It is partnered with her Diplocat service, through which cats can be transferred to and from the boarding facility in a limousine.

Evolution through Empowerment
“I wish that more women realized that helping another woman win, cheering her on, praying for her, or sharing a resource with her does not take away from the blessings coming to them. In fact, the more you give, the more you receive. Empowering women doesn’t come from selfishness, but rather from selflessness.”
~Selene Kinder
Heather Dodd has successfully built, managed, and sold many businesses over the past twenty-five years and is considered an expert in the field of start-ups, business consulting, and sales. Finding My Way in a New Day
“Love is what carries you, for it is always there, even in the dark, or most in the dark, but shining out at times like gold stitches in a piece of embroidery.”
~Wendell Berry
A Prairie girl from Calgary, Ruth Purves Smith grew up travelling the dusty highways between two cultures: her urban life in the city and the artisan’s dream of a circa 1800s rural woollen mill. From these beginnings, Ruth found her voice to become an accomplished songwriter and performer. Her music spans the spectrum from country through to Celtic-infused folk rock. Both of her albums (Out in the Storm and Faster than the Speed of Dark) have garnered international attention and enthusiastic reviews.
Having toured much of North America and the UK, Ruth has settled back in Alberta’s farm belt to compose music, complete a new album, write a children’s book, develop her fibre arts, and build community around creating art and sharing knowledge of sustainable lifestyles. This is her first published prose.
